Subscribe and setup MyEmail

You can only subscribe to MyEmail via your mobile phone’s browser, on compatible Telstra Next G™ handsets.  From your Telstra Mobile, it is free to browse on these pages in Australia.

First check here to see if your handset is compatible. If your handset is compatible then you can subscribe to MyEmail by yourself5, in one of two quick and easy ways

  1. Get started here
    To subscribe to MyEmail, click here, enter your mobile number and click the ‘send’ button. You will receive an SMS (at no cost to you) with the link to subscribe to MyEmail on your handset.

    Open the MyEmail link in the SMS.

    Then follow the set-up instructions on your mobile phone’s browser.

  2. Getting started from the Telstra MyPlace menu
    Just click on MyPlace on your compatible Next G™ mobile phone.

    Select MyEmail, to go the MyEmail page on your phone’s browser.

    Follow the set up instructions.
    (Note: If your mobile phone is incompatible, you will see the following message on the MyEmail page: “Your handset doesn’t support MyEmail”).

    Once MyEmail is activated, you’ll be able to manage your settings via your mobile phone’s browser or online if you log in or register for MyInbox.

Managing MyEmail

Once you’ve set up MyEmail, in a few easy steps you’ll be able to manage and adjust service settings by yourself, including:

  • adding email addresses
  • setting passwords
  • alert options - weekdays, weekends, business hours, after hours.


You can change settings by going to MyEmail on your Next G™ mobile phone’s browser, MyPlace menu on your mobile phone, or online through MyInbox.


Managing MyEmail on your Next G™ mobile

MyPlace menu:

  • Go to the MyPlace menu
  • Click on MyEmail
  • Scroll down to settings links, and follow instructions
  • From your Telstra Mobile, it is free to browse on these pages in Australia.


Mobile phone browser:

  • Go to the BigPond Mobile Portal on your phone
  • Scroll down, then click MyEmail
  • Scroll down to settings links, and follow instructions
  • From your Telstra Mobile, it is free to browse on these pages in Australia.


Managing MyEmail online
You can manage MyEmail settings online via MyInbox.

You will need to link your BigPond or Telstra email address to your MyEmail service. If you don’t have a BigPond or Telstra email address yet we will provide you with one.

1. Overseas set up and use may attract international data charges.
2. Please refer to your mobile phone manual to see if your phone supports attachments, and the type of attachments (Eg. Word, PDF, Excel etc). Maximum size of each attachment is 1MB, with a maximum e-mail size of 2MB.
3. Maximum of 5,000 emails can be opened and sent per month.
4. Offer ends 30 June 2011. One offer per customer. You must tell us before the end of your first month if you don’t want to use MyEmail.
5. You must be an authorised representative of the mobile account or have the account holder’s authority to subscribe.
